Transfer Information from the Summary into the SOAPnote

Q: How do I transfer information from the Summary into the SOAPnote?

1. Define the Summary to SOAP Settings

1. Define the Summary to SOAP Settings

In order for the Summary to SOAP function to work, you must first set it up.  This only needs to be done before using Summary to SOAP for the first time.  

To define the Summary to SOAP settings:

  1. Go to Tools > Options
  2. Click on Summary to SOAP
  3. Choose the desired Destination for each Summary Field (leave the Destination blank if you do not want it to transfer to the SOAPnote)
  4. When finished, click the Close button.
  5. Log out of SOAPware and back in so that your changes will be saved.

2.  Open the Patient Chart

Open the patient's chart using the Chart Rack.

  1. Click the Summary tab to view the patient's Summary.
  2. Click the SOAP Notes tab to view the patient's encounters.

*Note: If the Summary or SOAP Notes tabs are not visible in the chart, open them using the Chart Navigator.

4. Create a New SOAPnote

Create a new SOAPnote (click the Green +) and add the task item.

Click on the Edit menu, then select Summary to SOAP.
