Q: How do I manually add or edit NDC codes?
Add NDC code at the charge level
NDC codes can be added to a charge from the New Charges tab prior to posting a new charge to a patients ledger, or they can be added from the Claims tab when editing/correcting an existing claim/visit. For details, see Additional Information-Charge Level Drug Tab
1. For electronic claims, add NDC in Drug Code
2. For CMS 1500 paper claims, add NDC in Supplemental field.
The NDC code can also be assigned to selected codes to eliminate having to manually add them as shown in this lesson. Drug Quantity and Drug Unit will still have to be added to each charge.
