Order a Test in Order Manager

Q: How do I order a test in Order Manager?

1. Open Order Manger

Click on the Order Manager button located on the Common Toolbar.

2. Create a New Order

Click on the Create a New Order (green +) button.

3. Select Test

  1. Enter a test name in the Find box and click on the Search button.
  2. Highlight the test (be sure the item type is "Order Entry").
  3. Click Select.

  1. Click to highlight the order.
  2. Complete all sub items (meaning, click on the blue underlined words to reveal pick lists), using SMARText Quick Access.

  1. To fax the order to an outside facility, click the Fax button and select the design to be sent from the drop down list that is presented.
  2. To print the order, click the Print button and select the design to be printed.
  3. For orders performed in house, click the Submit button.

6. Complete the Task Information

  1. Complete all task information fields.
  2. Click Select to place the order, as well as send a message to the appropriate task list.

7. Transfer to the SOAPnote

The order is automatically transferred to the Plan field of the SOAPnote whenever it is faxed, printed, or submitted.
