Lab Templates
This lesson will cover how to search and create lab Templates.
Lab Templates are used for documenting groups of lab tests. For example a CBC is composed of many lab tests: WBC, RBC, Hbg, Hct, etc. A lab Template for a CBC would contain all of the individual tests that make up that CBC.
Searching for Lab Templates
Many lab Templates are pre-built by SOAPware. To search for available lab Templates, click on the Templates tab docked at the bottom of the screen or click in the menu bar Docutainers > Templates.
Search
To search for a Template, enter a keyword and click on the Search button.
Download Template
- Click on Location to sort the Templates.
- Find Templates in the Labs location.
- Download the Template to the local library.
The Template is now ready to use within the network.
Creating New Lab Templates
To create a lab template:
Open a test chart. Open the Lab chart section. Click on the Create New Lab (green +) button to create a new lab Document.
Select Empty
Select the Empty Lab template and click OK.
To Add a Lab Test
Click on the Add New Lab Test (green +) button at the top of the Lab Encounter to enter lab tests.
Select Lab Tests
A user is to highlight the lab tests he/she wants to include and click OK. To highlight multiple lab tests, click and hold down the Control key on the keyboard and select the lab tests to add. The lab tests will display in the order they are selected. These cannot be moved up or down.
To Remove a Lab Test
If a test needs to be removed, click on the Remove (red X) button.
Creating the Template
Click on the Templates tab docked at the bottom of the screen or select Documents > Templates from the menu bar.
Create a New Template
To create the new Template, click on the Create New Template (green +) button, in the Templates Menu.
Enter Template Information
- Give the Template a shortcut.
- Enter a description for the Template.
- Enter key words for the Template.
