Updated Growth Charts
The features listed below have been added to meet the Meaningful Use ONC 2014 Edition Test Scripts for 170.314(a)(4) Vital Signs, Body Mass Index, and Growth Charts.
New Updated Growth Charts Have Been Added
The CDC recommends that health care providers: use the WHO growth standards to monitor growth for infants and children ages 0 to 2 years of age in the U.S and use the CDC growth charts for children age 2 years and older in the U.S.
The following WHO growth standards charts have been added to SOAPware:
- Birth to 24 months: Boys Weight-for-length percentiles and Head circumference-for-age percentiles
- Birth to 24 months: Boys Length-for-age percentiles and Weight-for-age percentiles
- Birth to 24 months: Girls Weight-for-length percentiles and Head circumference-for-age percentiles
- Birth to 24 months: Girls Length-for-age percentiles and Weight-for-age percentiles
The following CDC growth charts have been added to SOAPware:
- 2 to 20 years: Boys Stature-for-age and Weight-for-age
- 2 to 20 years: Boys BMI-for-age
- 2 to 20 years: Boys Weight-for-stature
- 2 to 20 years: Girls Stature-for-age and Weight-for-age
- 2 to 20 years: Girls BMI-for-age
- 2 to 20 years: Girls Weight-for-stature
When a new growth chart is added into the patients chart (either in the Vital Signs section or the Growth Charts section), the user will be able to select from the newly updated, age appropriate growth charts. The patient's vital signs will continue plot on the new growth charts as they did in previous versions.
