2. Prepare for Registration

Registration for the Medicare or Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs

To register for the Medicare EHR Incentive Program, you will need:

  1. An active and approved enrollment record in the Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System (PECOS)
  2. An NPI
  3. An Identity and Access Management (I&A) ID and Password for the individual provider
  4. A Payee TIN
  5. A Payee NPI
  6. An EHR Certification Number

To register for the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program, you will need:

  1. An NPI
  2. An Identity and Access Management (I&A) ID and Password for the individual provider
  3. A Payee TIN
  4. A Payee NPI
  5. An EHR Certification Number
