5. Active Medication List

This lesson will demonstrate the steps necessary to meet the Meaningful Use requirement for maintaining a medication allergy list.

Version: SOAPware version 7.0.2 or later must be used

*Note: To determine the version of SOAPware being used, click on Help > About SOAPware. This will open a window which will show the version and build of SOAPware currently in use.

 

Measure Criteria

Objective: Maintain active medication allergy list.

Measure: More than 80% of all unique patients seen by the eligible provider have at least one entry (or an indication that the patient has no known medication allergies) recorded as structured data.

Exclusion: No exclusion.

Measure Calculation

Denominator: Number of unique patients seen by the EP during the HER reporting period. In SOAPware, this is the number of unique patients seen that have a face-to-face SOAP note during the reporting period.

Numerator: Number of patients in the denominator who have a medication (or an indication that the patient is not currently prescribed any medication) recorded as structured data.

Threshold: The resulting percentage must be more than 80%.
