6. Attest to Meaningful Use
Attest to Meaningful Use Following the Completion of Your Reporting Period
After you have completed your reporting period, attest to Meaningful Use using the EHR Incentive Program Registration and Attestation System. Visit the CMS Registration & Attestation resources for additional information.
The Attestation User Guide for Eligible Professionals will step you through the attestation process.
First Year Meaningful Users
EPs who are in their first year of Meaningful Use can report for any 90 day period, however, in order to avoid a payment adjustment in 2015 they must meet Meaningful Use and attest prior to October 1, 2014. This means that first year Meaningful Use providers should begin their reporting period no later than July 1st, 2014 and complete attestation by using the Medicare & Medicaid EHR Incentive Program Registration and Attestation System prior to October 1, 2014.
