OCTOBER 2016 - How to Change the Frequency Type Code in SOAPware PM
If you have been receiving denials for Claim Frequency Type/Submission Code, it could be that you are not choosing the correct submission type in SOAPware. To change the frequency type code for claims rejected by the payer, follow the steps listed below:
- Open the Claims Manager and the Pending section.
- Change the Submission code by clicking on the drop-down menu and selecting the appropriate code (see screenshot above).
These codes are associated with the Claim Frequency type and are indicated in the electronic file as:
- Original: 1
- Corrected: 6 (select for corrected Institutional claims)
- Replacement: 7 (select for corrected Professional claims)
- Void: 8
